THE SOCIETY OF SEA KNIGHTS is an international community of sea-loving amateur sailors who call themselves yacht skippers and have a sea captain’s license.
The company was founded on March 31, 2009 in Murter (Dalmatia) by Zoltán Hovanec – Magister Magnus and first Perjel Dragomir Penjalov in the church of St.Mihovil. Based on the language used on yachts, the Knights’ Society is divided into priors (Priority). The Company cannot be a member of any political party. Its main goals are the interpretation and preservation of the maritime traditions of the past centuries and the nurturing and transmission of noble seafaring traditions and Christian values to the present and future generations of seafarers.
In the years after its establishment, the expanding society increased the knowledge of its members during joint seminars and further training, and then from 2021, by organizing a friendly, ship-based “Friends expedition” in seamanship skills and knightly tournaments, it strengthened mutual respect, appreciation, and cooperation, and improved the provision of assistance. skill, understanding tolerance.
In the autumn of every year, the candidate members and now the new members – Knights of the Sea – take a festive oath in the church to: promote peace, understanding, love, non-violent social development among sailors and people who love the sea, persistent and positive thinking and as good sailors, they always set an example for their fellow men.
